Movies For Free

Time Out New York recently listed some great ideas for cheap movie tickets, and a couple of them are free!  Let us know which is your favorite way to see movies for free:
  • Sony Wonder Technology Lab
Brave the tourist-packed museum for free screenings of popular hits every Saturday at 2pm. The 73-seat high-def theater fills up fast, so reserve your tickets the Monday before. 550 Madison Ave at 56th St (212-833-7858, wondertechlab.sony.com
  • Brooklyn Public Library
The BPL’s events calendar is dotted with free screenings so varied, something is bound to strike your fancy. 200 Eastern Pkwy at Washington Ave, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn (718-230-2100, brooklynpubliclibrary.org)
  • New York Public Library for the Performing Arts
There’s no better way to spend an afternoon than catching up on vintage 16mm films and rare docs for free at this uptown institution. 111 Amsterdam Ave between 64th and 65th Sts (212-870-1700, nypl.org/lpaprograms)
  •  MoMA Not only is the museum free on Friday afternoons, but so are the movies. Tickets must be picked up between 4 and 8pm. The line thins after 6pm, though tickets sometimes sell out before then. 11 W 53rd St between Fifth and Sixth Aves (212-708-9400, moma.org)
